"The antidote to injury is attitude: an injection of awareness, caring
and learning into the minds and hearts of everyone around us."

Paul Kells, Chair  Passport to Safety Program

FACT
MORE YOUNG PEOPLE DIE OF INJURIES THAN ALL OTHER CAUSES COMBINED.

FACT
SIX TIMES
more injuries happen to young people in their first month than any other time on the job.

FACT
OVER TWO THIRDS
of young workers have never received a safety training manual for their job.

FACT
OVER HALF
of young workers have received no safety training for new tasks.

FACT
THERE IS AN ANTIDOTE.

Vision
To live in a world in which young people come home healthy and safe at the end of each day.

Mission
To help eliminate needless injuries and preventable deaths of young Australians aged 24 and under.

What it is and what it isn't
Passport to Safety is an innovative national youth health and safety test and transcript program that verifies youth have a basic understanding of what they need to know to protect themselves from injury at work.

Passport to Safety does not replace job-specific health and safety training that is required of all employers under Australian legislation. All employers are still required to provide the training necessary for each worker to be able to perform their job safely.
