Passport to Safety - Privacy Statement
This Privacy Statement for Passport to Safety outlines how we will treat any
personal information you give us when you use this web site. This statement is
governed of the privacy policy of Safe Communities Canada. (www.safecommunities.ca)
Quick facts
- We do not sell, give away, or let others see the private information you give us.
- We administer the web server where Passport to Safety is located. This lets us protect you and your information.
- We promise to e-mail you only once in a while, and only if you want us to.
Contact information and E-mails
Passport to Safety does collect your name and e-mail address when you register for the Passport to Safety test. We do this so that we can put your name on your Passport to Safety Transcript and Certificate and send them to you. This is the only time Passport to Safety uses your name.
Any information you provide us in forms, emails, or tests will be used anonymously.
We may also contact you at the e-mail address you provide to update you on new feature of the Passport to Safety or to ask you if we may use your information for a specialized research project.
If you do not want us to e-mail you, just let us know at info@passporttosafety.com.
Who will know about your registration
If your employer or your school has paid your membership fee, they will know when you have registered and if you have successfully completed the Passport to Safety test.
Our use of IP Addresses
An Internet Provider (IP) address is given to your computer whenever you go online. All web servers automatically record IP addresses.
Passport to Safety only uses IP address information to identify which country our users are from and which Internet Service Provider (ISP) they are using to access our site. The IP address could also be used to help an ISP identify users who are a threat to you or the web site (for example, those who threaten others or try to hack into our server.)

We are part of an organization committed to ensuring that no harm comes to anyone who is part of any research project, and we hope you choose to participate.

If you choose not to be a part of our research, we will respect your decision. Either way, you have full access to the entire site. Nothing changes!

If you choose not participate in our research project:
If you register and tell us that you choose not to be a part of our research, your information is put into a special category of users, and your information is excluded from our research, except for the following:
- To let us understand how many people consent to be a part of our research and how many don’t consent.

- To make sure your information never gets mixed up with information we get from those who have chosen to be part of our study
