Looking for a job? (16-May-2006)
Hey,
When you're out and about looking for a summer job there are things you should keep in mind when choosing your new employer. You want to be sure that your employer provides job specific training and is open to your questions and concerns. At the same time, there are a few things that your employer is going to have in mind when the time comes to choose you! Good employers want to employ someone who is reliable and ready to work, they also want to hire someone who is thinking about health and safety
to ensure there workplace runs as it should and nobody gets injured.
More and more employers are becoming Passport to Safety employers everyday. Be sure to check passporttosafety.com to find employers in your area who will recognize your Passport to Safety certificate and transcript. If you go to work for an employer who isn't aware of Passport to Safety, take the opportunity to share a new idea with him/her and tell them about how Passport to Safety can work within their workplace....you might save a life!!
Happy Job Hunting.....

Winter Work (9-February-2006)
Happy Winter Everyone,
Eariler today I came into my house and on my way up the steps I hit a piece of ice and almost slipped backwards down the steps. This happened because I forgot something inside and, being in a rush, ran in to get it. It made me think for a second, what could have happened if I landed on my back or on my head and hurt myself? It happens to people everyday. First of all, if I had of been injured I would have had to cancel my date tonight... and that's just the beginning of what you can miss out on by being injured (not to mention the pain). So when you're running out of the house to go to work, rushing out of work to meet with your friends, or on the go to anywhere for that matter, take your time and watch your step so that you can continue to have fun this winter! Spring will get here a lot faster if you're out doing the things you love to do, and not laid up in a bed because of a slip and fall injury that could have been prevented....
Later,
Candace :)
